Portable electronic device restrictions extended
The department for transport has extended the restrictions on portable electronic devices to all flights into and out of the UK.
Originally, the restrictions, which meant all portable electronic devices must be charged before passing through security, only applied to US-bound flights.
If a device cannot be switched on when requested it will not be permitted onto the aircraft.
The restrictions apply to all portable electronic devices, such as mobile phones, laptops, tablets, electrical shavers, travel irons, hairdryers, hair-straighteners and cameras.
