The luxury way to start your holiday

Are you off on a special holiday, perhaps your honeymoon, or maybe you’re celebrating an anniversary with a special trip abroad?

If so, why not get your holiday off to a great start by adding a few luxuries to your travel?

There are many ‘mini treats’ you can add to your holiday to get it off to a flying start. Here are some of our favourites:

Meet and greet parking

Help Me Park's meet and greet valet parking is the easiest option for parking at the airport.

There's no need to park your car, simply drive right up to the airport terminal, hand your keys over to one of our drivers and walk straight into the airport. Your car will be parked for you in our secure car park.

If you think the convenience stops here, think again.

When your flight lands your car will be brought back to the terminal and will be outside waiting for you the minute you exit the building.

Book an airport hotel room

Deciding what time to leave home for the airport on the day of your flight can be quite stressful.

If you know the journey will take two hours, do you allow two hours to get there, or do you add on an extra half an hour for luck?

What if there’s an accident or road works and your journey time increases significantly? Should you allow an extra hour or two, just in case?

Why not banish the flight-day stresses and book an airport hotel for the night before you fly?

Not only does it cut down on the stress, it also adds an extra night to your holiday.

For the ultimate in convenience, book an on-airport hotel.

Park and stay package

If you’re looking for a hotel room and parking, why not consider booking a park and stay package – you get all the perks of both and save money too.

Booking a park and stay package with the meet and greet option is the best way – if you're staying at an on-airport hotel (Sofitel, Hilton or Premier Inn), we can collect your car from the hotel when you arrive.

Online check-in

Online check-in is a great way to avoid the airport queues. Simply go online the day before you fly (or earlier, depending on your airline), check-in, and print off your boarding passes.

If you don’t have Internet access, or can’t get to a computer, use the self check-in terminals at the airport – however, not all airlines permit self-service check-in at the airport, so check your airline’s website prior to travel.

Mobile boarding passes

Some airlines offer mobile boarding passes, whereby your boarding pass is sent to your mobile phone, so all you need do is present your mobile phone for scanning at the airport – it’s so convenient.

Twilight baggage drop

If you want to avoid the baggage queues and your airline offers twilight check-in, use it.

The queues to check in luggage should be far shorter in the evening than on the day of travel too. Using this service allows you to just breeze through to airport security on the day of your flight.

Currently there are five airlines that offer day-before check-in: British Airways, easyJet, Thomas Cook, Thomson Airways and Virgin Atlantic.

Not all flights are available for day-before check-in, and times available vary from airline to airline so it’s advisable that you contact your airline, or check their website, before travelling to the airport.

Airport lounge

Airport lounges offer a convenient, hassle-free wait for your flight.

Many lounges offer complimentary food and drinks, newspapers and magazines, however, services offered vary slightly between lounges, so check before you book.

Some lounges have age restrictions too, so if you are travelling with children, check before you book. Stays are usually restricted to a maximum of three hours so time your booking according to your flight time.

Luggage Courier Company

The height of luxury is having a courier company transport your luggage to your destination. Your suitcases are collected from your chosen location and transported to the destination of your choice. A guaranteed service gives you peace of mind that your luggage won’t be lost, delayed, or just left at your departure airport.

Speedy boarding

Some airlines offer priority/speedy boarding, which is worth paying for if you want to avoid the usual stampede to grab overhead locker space.

Book your plane seats

If you want to grab seats with the most legroom or ensure a quick exit from the plane at arrival, consider booking your seats. The earlier you book your seats, the more choice you’ll get.

Gatwick First

How about fast tracking your way through the airport with Gatwick’s concierge service – Gatwick First.

Gatwick First offers a personalised service from arrival at Gatwick right through to your boarding gate.

A great way to avoid the queues, you’ll be met on arrival at Gatwick, assisted through priority check-in, premium security channels and then on to the departure lounge.

Assistance can also be offered with shopping and meal arrangements if required. You will then be escorted to your airport lounge (if using) and then on to your departure gate.

Go on, get your holiday off to a great start by booking some, or all, of the above. And, if you want to add any extras to our list, let us know on our Facebook page.
