Family Parking Made Easy at Gatwick

The summer holidays are now over and many of us are starting to think about a short break during the October half-term holiday.

If you’re flying with children from Gatwick this half term, you should seriously consider booking meet and greet parking.

Gatwick meet and greet parking
Meet and greet parking allows you to drive straight up to the airport terminal – forget driving to an off-airport car park and catching a bus to the airport. With meet and greet you drive right up to the terminal building and stop in one of the dedicated valet parking bays outside the North or South terminals – they’re signed Approved Operators Only.

Here you’ll meet your fully-insured driver. Unload your family. Swap your keys for paperwork and make your way straight into the terminal building for your flight.

Your car is then taken to a safe and secure ParkMark approved car park where it remains until you arrive back at the airport.

On your return you’re met by your driver with your car, in the same place as when you arrived - it’s that easy!

Time saving advantages
A great advantage of meet and greet parking is that it saves so much time compared with traditional off-airport parking.

With off-airport parking you have to drive to an off-airport car park - around 10 or 15 minutes away from the airport. You park your car and unload your family and your luggage. Check your car in at the reception and wait for a bus back to the airport. With meet and greet there’s no need to add on extra time to your journey – on average you’ll save around half an hour each way.

Reputable companies
Gatwick Airport is the only airport to have introduced an Approved Operator Scheme for meet and greet parking companies, which requires companies to meet certain criteria before they are able to join the scheme.

The criteria include:

  • Car parks must hold the Park Mark® award issued by the British Parking Association, in conjunction with the Association of Chief Police Officers
  • Have achieved the Buy with Confidence Accreditation
  • Must hold full insurance
  • Require all staff to wear uniforms
  • All drivers must carry photo ID
  • Company vehicles must be liveried

Not just for families
Meet and greet parking isn't just for families with small children, it's especially suited to passengers with mobility issues, and disabled passengers, who are able to drive right up to the airport terminal in their specially-adapted vehicles.

Meet and greet parking is also popular with business travellers.
