Holidays are traditionally a time to relax and indulge in all of your favourite food and drink. But the growing popularity of fitness holidays suggests more and more of us are opting for a much healthier kind of break.

Research carried out in 2015 by Travelex revealed a quarter of us want to lose weight on holiday, with one in three hoping to tone up.

1. Perfect for singles

Many fitness holidays are geared up especially for solo travellers, so don’t let a lack of a travel companion stop you from booking your belly-busting break.
