Help-me-park are committed to the environment in all of our business activities.

As part of Help-me-park's business philosophy, it is recognised that we have a responsibility towards protecting the environment by minimising the impact on it from our activities. We strive to do so in the following ways:

Operating as an online business, we are working towards a completely 'paperless' office and we strive to use technology in place of more traditional methods of communication.

Our business operating methods allow us to carefully monitor the number of bookings we have, which enables us to plan the most efficient staffing schedule, limiting our effect on the environment.

We strive to recycle as much of all our business waste as possible.

The environmental impact of ‘Kiss and Fly’ journeys

Continuing with the ethos of protecting the environment, we strive to offer the best possible meet and greet parking service which, in itself, helps to address some of the environmental issues connected with travel to and from the airport.

Much emphasis and media coverage is given to the environmental damage caused by flying and the carbon emissions given off by airlines, however, very little focus is placed on travel to and from the airport.

BAA Gatwick Airport is trying to encourage the use of public transport to reduce pollution, carbon emissions and to alleviate congestion on roads leading to and surrounding the airport.

While public transport connections at Gatwick are very good during normal working hours, transportation out of these hours is not always convenient, particularly when travelling some distance to and from the airport.

Passengers with limited mobility, parents with small children and those with bulky sports equipment can also find public transport inconvenient.
These inconveniences have led to a significant rise ‘kiss and fly’ journeys - the enlisting of friends and family to drop off travellers at the airport.

Figures released by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) show that in 2006 27% of passengers travelling to and from Gatwick used ‘kiss and fly’.
‘Kiss and fly’ journeys are made out of kindness, with little thought given to the environmental impact these journeys make.

‘Kiss and fly’ journeys involve four journeys – two to the airport and two from the airport – in effect twice the number of journeys and doubling the amount of carbon emissions released into the atmosphere.

Convenience is often cited as the main reason for ‘kiss and fly’, however, the days of driving right up to the airport terminal are long gone. Strict security measures now mean access to the upper forecourt of Gatwick Airport – old departure level – is restricted to airport taxis and shuttle buses, and drivers picking up passengers are required to park in the short-stay car park.

Help-me-park.com’s meet and greet parking offers a more convenient and much more environmentally friendly method of travelling to Gatwick Airport. Passengers drive right up to the airport at whatever time of the day or night they choose, leave their car with one of our valet meet and greet airport parking drivers and walk straight into the Gatwick Airport terminal. On their return our valet parking driver will have your car waiting at the Help-me-park.com valet drop off point ready for you to drive away.

Valet meet and greet airport parking offers convenience and a much greener way of travelling to Gatwick Airport – just two journeys are made – one to the airport and one back home – halving the number of road miles made by ‘kiss and fly’ and, best of all, a 50% reduction in carbon emissions!
